Sweet Factor, the winning streak continues for Michael Jones Jr.

Orlando Bocachica patiently awaited the perfect moment to unleash Sweet Factor (The Factor) in her gallop towards the finish line. After clocking a time of 23″36 seconds for the first quarter-mile, the filly comfortably surged ahead to extend her lead, securing her first victory after 14 previous attempts, and doing so in a Maiden Claiming race with a purse of just $ 12,000.

The three-year-old filly, owned by Michael Scheffres, seemed to thrive on the wet track as she opened up a gap of at least three lengths over Waverley and Talented Corinna, who battled it out for the runner-up positions. Meanwhile, the winner crossed the line in 1″21″66 for the 6 1/2 furlongs. It was a modest field that allowed the Puerto Rican jockey to add his 30th win of the season to his tally, and for ‘Big Mike’, it marked his 21st celebration, with several consecutive weeks in the winner’s circle at Charles Town.
